The lower section of Cold Brook Trail (up to evergreen link) is very poorly marked for hiking. It follows a road, snowmobile trails, and then passes through clear cuts. There are a few small carains in the clear cut areas. I highly recommend bring a copy of the WMG description because there are snowmobile trail intersections and clear cut areas where the hiking trail is not marked. Lost of time consuming trial and error required me to turn around at the junction in order to get back to work on time. I knew Speckled was a long shot on my break yesterday. The good news was that I finished redlining the Speckled mountain section of the WMG.
*Note, a coworker reports a new blowdown that obscures Evergreen Link trail.
