Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parkman Mountain trailhead was full with cars lined up and down the road, likewise for Jordan Pond - Island Explorer is definitely the way to go - free shuttle will get you to almost any trailhead in Acadia from downtown Bar Harbor

Trail Maintenance Notes: All in great shape
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Must be on leash in Acadia. AN easy path fr the canines. Many out today - only water sources on this traverse are the stream where Giant slide crosses the carriage road early on and at Sargent pond about halfway along so bring plenty of water.
Bugs
Bugs: A few out in the sections below the ridgeline, wind up on the ridge kept them away.

Comments
Comments: A perfect day to do my favorite traverse in Acadia. Nice temps and lower humidity made for clear blue skies - none of the haze that is often around to obscure the views. A north to south traverse of Sargent and Penobscot starting at Parkman Trailhead and ending at Jordan Pond. Hiked carriage roads to connect to northwest ridge trail and the traverse. Carriage road at the end takes you to Jordan pond or can connect via Asticou trail. This traverse gives you 3+ miles of open ridge walking across the 2 summits. Great views along the way and you avoid the crowds on Cadillac. Sargent pond provides a nice stop to soak your feet and cool off.
