Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing significant
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good shape. No real issues that I can remember
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one that was having a good time. Water could be scarce up high in places though
Bugs
Bugs: Annoying at times, non-existent at times, and biting heavy at times. It all depended on where you were. Deer flies in Maine are slower than NH though and you can swat them easier

Comments
Comments: Trails were in great shape all day with minimal mud or other problems. Bypassed the viewpoint on South Crocker to get North first, then came back. Herd path from South Crocker was easy to see about 10-15 feet before the view. Followed it to the AT boundary where I learned I went left (possibly at a downed tree) when I shouldn't have. Ribbon on that herd path at the boundary is confusing once you get there. Headed right up the boundary and quickly found the right path (ribbons and small cairn). From here, everything was easy to follow all the way to Redington. Summit canister at Redington is slightly in the trees on the eastern side of the opening on a dead tree. It's up high enough you can see it if you are looking in the right spot from the opening. Walk back to the car along the roads was a bit boring and tedious. Deer flies were out in force in this area, but I did find some nice wild strawberries. Almost set my pack down one of many large ant mounds though.
