A nice few days hiking in Acadia NP, decided to take some trails I haven't been on. Lower Canon Brook is a delight nice and easy walking, A Murray Young Path has nice rock steps heading into the Gorge and a few spots of avoidable mud. Upper Gorge path and south ridge always a nice hike. Took upper part of Canon Brook trail back down - a good stretch is spent on rock ledges alongside the brook and trail is a bit is steep, there were a few spots where the ledges were wet and slippery to keep an eye on - managed one spill but lots of little falls to view. A great loop I'd recommend - the less travelled trails are a nice balance to the massive crowds up top and on the more popular trails. |
