Feeling ridiculous in mountaineering boots (they're the only winter boots I have!), I did a short loop-ish hike to Bradbury Mountain. I took Northern Loop to Boundary Trail, to South Ridge Trail, which I followed to the parking lot, then backtracked to hit the summit. From the summit, I descended Tote Road to Northern Loop. Then ascending Northern Loop, I took Bluff Trail, and Terrace Trail back to the Northern Loop, and on to the car. Wore snowshoes the entire hike, trails nicely broken out. Saw many happy faces enjoying a very chilly New Years Eve hike. Bye bye 2013! |
