Comments
Comments: Southwest Ridge Trail broken until a few tenths south of the unnamed 1904' peak (the one with the towers), then unbroken to its junction with Ledges Trail. 12-18 inches of medium density powder on the unbroken sections. Met the only other hiker of the day on the main summit, he came up Bald Peak Trail, which was unbroken. Went over Big Bald Peak to the junction with North Ridge Trail, then turned around. Firewardens was broken by a combination of snowshoe track, bareboots, and a sled. Wore snowshoes trailhead to trailhead. Was occasionally drizzled on, but nothing major. All trails, with the exception of the ~0.8 mile section of Southwest Ridge, have seen at least two sets of snowshoes on them. With a bit of luck, the incoming weather will further consolidate the base. Great hike close(er) to home.
